Snowy learned not to bark at the postman, at the ringing of the doorbell, at someone knocking at the door in less than two hours. Mark was great with our Japanese spitz and went above and beyond to help. I would highly recommend Mark + The Sydney Dog Trainer. Mark was fantastic! As others have said, I wish we'd gotten him in sooner. He clearly has a lot of knowledge and experience, but we especially appreciated how much care and attention he brought to his work. We discussed the issues we were having with our puppy (non-stop demand barking during crating and separation anxiety while away) and Mark was able to tell us what we were doing right, and what we could be doing better. Importantly for us, Mark showed a lot of empathy to our puppy and was quickly able to establish a bond with her, which he then used to show us ways to better train her so everyone was happy.

One of the key reasons we went with Mark over other trainers was that his approach seemed much more holistic and less punitive, and that's really what we saw when he visited. And it's worked - our puppy went from non-stop barking when crated to almost nothing - now she only barks during playtime! Mark has been brilliant with our my Staffy! My staffy started lunging and barking on lead when she spotted other dogs and people on walks. Mark gave us a small amount of theory and she was fixed in that one visit! We were left with a clear explanation of how we were to handle her going forward and immediately put it in to practice. It has since become a delight to walk her again!

I called Mark in a panic this morning as my brand new puppy was raising hell in his crate and I didn’t know what to do. Mark left 1 hour ago and for the past 30 minutes, my puppy has been having a nap in his crate with no barking or whining. Mark came to my house and helped me with my very energetic Irish setter puppy Behaviour such as biting, pulling on the lead and barking at the bell.
He provided me with great tips to manager her and within days I saw massive improvements.

We just had Mark over for an in-house visit. He is very professional and provided us with some tools and techniques that we could use to train our dog to stop unwanted barking.
With just 1 in-house visit we have already noticed a dramatic difference.
